About Us

Our Story

Blue Knights® Louisiana XVI is a non-profit fraternal organization 501(c)(10) consisting of active and retired law enforcement officers who enjoy riding motorcycles. We were originally Chartered on April 15, 2015, in Plaquemine, La. and our "original 10" consisted entirely of active Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office Deputies. Since that time, we have expanded, with members from West Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee, Ascension Parishes as well as Louisiana State Police. Members have come and gone over the years, but our purpose remains the same. We are a family-oriented group, with spouses, children and other family members always welcome to participate. We take care of our own and have many times held benefits to assist our Blue Knights family or other Law enforcement members, in our area, in their time of need.

If you are a Full or part time Law enforcement officer (with arrest powers) or a retired Law enforcement officer, who also enjoys the freedom of the open road, family and just having fun, WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!  Ownership of a motorcycle and proper endorsement is required for membership. Reach out to us, we'd love to hear from you!

aBlue Knights Chapters and members are located worldwide, and we pride ourselves on our fraternal spirit in relating to other Blue Knights. Come and ride with us, and be a part of our brotherhood.

BLUE KNIGHTS INTERNATIONAL

The Blue Knights® International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, is a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement officers who enjoy riding motorcycles. In the Spring of 1974, several law enforcement officers* from the Bangor, Maine (USA) area met and formed a small, local motorcycle club. Soon, Blue Knight chapters were being formed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and beyond. With the addition of Canada, and later Australia, the Blue Knights became an international organization. Our charitable organization has contributed over $18.8 million dollars toward various charities throughout the world since statistics were kept. Our organization is comprised of active, and retired law enforcement officers and we strive to promote our organization as being a family fraternity. Spouses and children often accompany our members to the various rides and functions. Members can ride a bike of their choosing, and are not mandated to riding an American made motorcycle (ie. Harley Davidson). We do not have a probationary period for members, or prospects, and women are equal in our organization not only as members, but in leadership positions locally and internationally within the Blue Knights.
* Our Founding Fathers are: Joel Rudom, Bill Robinson, Doug Miner, Ed Gallant, Mike Hall, Chuck Gesner, Wayne Labree, Chuck Shuman.
